This rotation schedule requires the purchase of four new bands each year. At the time of purchase, the tapes are rotated in different roles. This schedule provides for the use of each tape 66 times. We found that this was a reasonable life expectancy for most backup tapes. The schedule you should have several levels of protection, a loss or damage occurs.

Remember, the tapes have warm and dry and at least weekly and quarterly tapes are offsite.
