Linux or Windows – What is it?

Users and programmers are so used to using Windows, also for the development of capacity and the appearance of the GUI version, so it has remained Microsoft’s product. Although Lycoris, Red Hat, Mandrake, Suse, Knoppix, Slackware and Lindows are several different versions of Linux. These companies provide their own versions of operating systems with minor changes, and always with the same end result. The mere fact that do not include one of these companies to compete with Windows for most of the reasons for the difference in market share.

Sometimes it seems that everyone on the planet with Windows. Many say that Windows is better than Linux because of the ease of use of the software or hardware. There are huge differences between the number of users of Linux and Windows. Many people say that Linux is much better because it as an open-source software starts and is therefore more flexible than Windows. So what explains the enormous difference in market share between these two operating systems?

Windows and Linux are different in many ways.

1. Windows GUI is an integral part of the operating system, speed, efficiency and reliability, while the Linux GUI is optional, is a server instance of Linux without a GUI, increased slightly, that server versions of Windows can not do it. The nature of the Linux GUI makes remote administration from a Linux machine easily with a natural feel than Windows computers.

2. The prompt operating systems are very different. The shells in the Windows 9x series are very similar to each other, and versions of Windows NT-class also have similar command interpreters. However, there are differences between a Windows 9x command interpreter and one in a class flavor of Windows NT. Linux, Unix, and also supports multiple command interpreters, but used in the rule or bash “Bourne Again Shell.”

3. Although you have to pay a hundred dollars for a new version of Windows, you can download Linux. There are no manuals or simple installers for the free version. While there are quite a learning curve in using the free package. There are some packages easily automated Linux at low prices.

to Microsoft’s “big con” is the security problems with Windows. Most spyware, adware and malware files with Windows very well. In general, you need not to such circumstances, if you use Windows. While Linux offers a strong protection, password protection for Windows can easily be circumvented.

The availability of the software is the key to why Windows wins over Linux in this competition. Most software releases are already configured for Windows. If you want to use Linux, you must use Windows with special software on your Windows-based programs to copy. You can always install Windows as a Linux subsystem, it would funtion the administrative functions of Windows and to enable them to Linux.

If Linux is still in competition with Windows, it should become easier and more serious technical support.
